Top Physicists - Never Trust Them

Let's go back to physics in the 1800s.

There was a parameter that appeared in almost all equations, it was T, temperature. It was fundamental. It ruled.

But then something strange happened. A few physicists suggested a thing called an atom. Of course, the world's top physicists immediately denounced the idea.

But then this atom thing started to make predictions. In particular it could explain the mechanism that produced temperature. So T was no longer fundamental, it was a mere derived quantity produced by a much deeper mechanism.

So top physicists changed their view a bit, and accepted this atomic thing as a clever calculation system. But atoms still did not exist.

Not until one day in 1905 when a young guy just out of college called Albert Einstein showed they did.

Moral of the story: Never trust top theoretical physicists.
