Macular Degeneration - The Instant Scoop

Macular Degeneration - The Instant Scoop

There are two types, dry and wet.

Dry is not so bad, but if it changes to wet you can have very serious vision problems.

A retina specialist can use a special retina camera to spot wet macular degereration in the very early stages. Then eye injections can fix it. But if it's left to develop the situation is not good.

Ask you retina specialist to check.. and to use a retina camera not just a visual check.

Tech Notes:

The macular is a tiny area of the retina that handles central forward vision and color vision.
It consists mostly of cone cells. The rest of the retina contains mostly rod cells which handle peripheral vision and black and white vision. A rod cell is so sensitive it can detect a single photon.
